Mr. Usman Ahmad Ranjha started his career as an advocate after graduating from the esteemed LLB Honours degree program of International Islamic University, Islamabad. Following his graduation, Mr Ranjha joined the renowned law chambers of Imtiaz Siddiqui & Associates at Lahore, where his practice was focused over litigation and arbitration on matters related to Civil Law, Company Law, Tax Law, and other such corporate matters. Apart from everyday litigation matters in the Chambers, Mr. Ranjha assisted the seniors of the chambers in a vast array of matters before the Honourable Supreme Court, and High Courts of Pakistan. In the year of 2005, after his enrolment as an Advocate of the High Courts, Mr. Ranjha was awarded admission in the prestigious institute King’s College London to pursue an LLM (Commercial & Corporate Law) degree, following which Mr. Ranjha moved to London United Kingdom.
On his return from London, United Kingdom, after the completion of his LLM, Mr. Ranjha started working at Baig & Co. Law Corporation, Lahore, where his primary areas of practice as an advocate were Contract Negotiations, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Project Financing, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Money Laundering laws.
In 2008, Mr. Ranjha parted ways with Baig & Co. Law Corporation, and established his own law chambers under the name and style of Usman & Associates. Within a short period of time, Mr. Ranjha’s newly founded chambers quickly established itself as one of the most famous corporate law firms of Lahore, and beyond. Under the supervision of Mr. Ranjha, Usman & Associates successfully litigated in matters related to Media Law, Telecommunications Law, Bankruptcy and Commercial Insolvency, Foreign Investment, and various International and Domestic Arbitrations, representing some well-known individuals and Corporations of Pakistan, and beyond.
Due to his extensive experience, and indepth knowledge of corporate law, Mr. Ranjha was offered the headship of government owned Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited’s (ZTBL) legal department in 2015. Under the superintendence of Mr. Ranjha, ZTBL’s legal department litigated on a vast array of matters including Services Law, Banking Law, and Corporate Matters etc. Mr. Ranjha resigned from his service of Zarai Taraqati Bank Limited in 2020, and joined Lex Praxis as a founding Senior Partner.
Mr. Ranjha is a highly revered member of the Lex Praxis family due to his in-depth knowledge of law, and extensive experience in the field. He is considered an expert of advising foreign and domestic companies in corporate matters, and providing services of litigation, drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, corporate legal advisory to companies in Banking, Oil and Gas, Finance and Hospitality industry.
Apart from his successful career as an advocate, Mr. Ranjha is also a visiting faculty member of TILS, Islamabad, where he lectures students of LLB (External Program), University of London, on Company Law. Prior to his stint as a professor of law at TILS, Mr Ranjha has also taught Company Law to students enrolled in LLB Honours (External program), University of London, at Pakistan College of Law, Lahore Pakistan, and Liverpool College of Management Sciences, London, United Kingdom.
